Job summary

Arcadis, the world's leading design and consultancy firm, seeks a Senior Fire Protection Engineer for our U.S. Places Design & Engineering business, with a focus on data centers and industrial facilities.

You will lead the fire protection discipline across multiple projects, guiding from pursuit through design and construction, while partnering with mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams to deliver robust, high-uptime protection solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection (US) required.
Experience designing fire protection for data centers, mission-critical facilities, or high-tech industrial environments.
Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and fire protection system strategies.
Experience delivering IFC design packages in complex or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Lead the fire protection design for data center projects.
Develop construction packages with drawings, specifications, and coordinated BIM models.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams to integrate fire protection systems within high-density environments.
Support business development with proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and client engagement.
Perform site assessments, field investigations, and fire protection studies for data centers.
Utilize modeling and design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, HydraCAD, and Aspire.
Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a technical advisor on fire protection strategies.
