Job summary

Arcadis, a leader in sustainable design and engineering, seeks an experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer focused on data centers and mission-critical facilities in the U.S. Places Design & Engineering group.

You will lead the fire protection discipline across multiple projects, coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams, and supporting business development through proposals and client engagement. Travel to project sites is expected (about 1 week per month).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• PE license in Fire Protection (U.S.) is required.
• Experience designing fire protection systems for data centers, mission-critical facilities, or high-tech industrial environments.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards (NFPA 13/20/22/24/72/75/76) and IFC/IBC/FM Global guidelines.
• Experience delivering IFC design packages.
• Strong communication and teamwork for hybrid work environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection design for data center and mission-critical facility projects.
• Develop construction-ready design packages with drawings, specs, and BIM models.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to juniors.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams.
• Support proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and client engagement.
• Conduct site assessments and fire protection studies for data centers.
• Utilize Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, Navisworks, HydraCAD, and related software.
• Maintain client relationships and act as technical advisor.
