Job summary

The Building People seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to join our team serving federal facilities in the Washington, DC area. You will work on building code and life safety analyses, and design of detection and suppression systems while coordinating with project teams.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. or M.S. in Fire Protection Engineering, a P.E. license, and the ability to obtain Public Trust Level 3 clearance. Experience with NFPA, IBC, and government projects is preferred.

Qualifications

• Five years of work experience in fire protection engineering.
• P.E. licensure or equivalent with five years dedicated to fire protection engineering.
• Must obtain and maintain Public Trust (Level 3) security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform building code and life safety analyses for facilities.
• Design automatic detection and suppression systems and assess water supply needs.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline project teams on federal facilities.
