Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas. You will serve as the subject matter expert for fire and life safety, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of five years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety.
• USACE or federal project experience preferred.
• Experience with QA, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
• Familiarity with RMS/QCS and federal construction management practices.
• Experience reviewing fire suppression, detection, and life safety systems.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish an understanding of fire protection requirements per UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders for fire protection features.
• Conduct BCOES and plan-in-hand reviews, applying lessons from all project phases.
• Perform inspections in compliance with project documentation and contract requirements.
• Provide technical guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Review contractor submittals and provide technical comments.
• Evaluate RFIs and respond to field changes.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• Perform QA oversight and document findings during project execution.
