Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a mechanical/architectural/chemical engineering field or related discipline.
• Professional engineering license (PE) required or near-ready with travel flexibility.
• Experience in fire protection engineering or related fields strongly preferred.
• Equivalent related experience may substitute for formal degree when justified.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection designs including water supply, hydraulics, sprinklers, and alarms.
• Act as QFPE for federal projects focusing on life safety and fire protection design.
• Review designs for compliance with NFPA, UFC, and local regs and sign off.
• Produce life safety and protection analyses, including egress and fire hazards.
• Explore systems using HydraCAD/HydraCALC or similar tools.
• Collaborate with sales to craft proposals and ensure regulatory alignment.
• Meet with clients to discuss current and future design needs and provide site assessments.
• Mentor junior staff and supervise project engineers when needed.
