Job summary

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, seeks a Technical Specialist and Fire Protection Engineer to lead fire protection design efforts and develop criteria that supplement Army-wide standards. You will oversee multi-discipline teams and direct life-cycle cost analyses to optimize design choices.

You will coordinate with stakeholders, ensure compliance with engineering principles, and provide expert engineering advice on complex fire protection challenges across projects in the district.

Qualifications

• Must possess Professional Fire Protection Engineer registration.
• Background investigation may be required.
• Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection design criteria for the Omaha District.
• Direct the design effort of multiple disciplines for Fire Protection Design.
• Define scope of fire protection requirements based on engineering knowledge and requirements.
• Direct life-cycle cost analysis to evaluate and rank design alternatives.
• Represent Omaha District for coordinating and advising on complex fire protection design problems.
