Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead fire protection design for data center and mission-critical facilities in the U.S. Places Design & Engineering business. You will collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Architects, and clients to deliver solutions across pursuit to construction.

Travel to project sites is expected (about 1 week per month). You will mentor junior engineers, develop BIM and CAD packages using Revit, AutoCAD, and fire protection software,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection (U.S.) required.
• Experience designing fire protection for data centers, mission-critical facilities, or high-tech industrial environments.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards (NFPA 13/20/22/24/72/75/76), IFC/IBC/FM Global guidelines.
• Experience delivering Issued for Construction (IFC) packages in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the fire protection design for data center and mission-critical facilities, ensuring reliability and uptime.
• Develop construction-ready design packages (drawings, specs, BIM models) across disciplines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Coordinate with mechanical/electrical/architectural teams to integrate fire protection systems.
• Support business development with proposals, estimates, schedules, and client engagement.
• Perform site assessments and fire protection studies for data centers.
