Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Fire/Life Safety Technician to service and repair alarm and building-system equipment at customer sites across the region. You will diagnose issues, reference manuals, and coordinate with customer representatives to ensure operational reliability.

The role requires reading blueprints and submittals, plus the ability to perform physical work and travel as needed. A strong focus on safety, documentation, and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Good working knowledge of computers and IT basics.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center and document issues.
• Contact customer representatives and diagnose equipment problems on site.
• Diagnose, service and repair fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures and reference manuals for repairs.
• Install and service various manufacturers’ Fire & Life Safety systems including SimplexGrinnell.
• Read diagrams and submittals, and communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction.
