Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc. is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service fire alarm systems at customer sites.

The role includes panel reprogramming, device replacement, low‑voltage troubleshooting, testing, and networked focus. The candidate should have 5+ years of Fire Alarm experience, read blueprints, and be able to perform physical labor up to 70 lbs while maintaining a strong safety and customer‑service mindset.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of documented Fire Alarm experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience reading/interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• Ability to perform physical labor up to 50–70 lbs and use ladders/lifts.
• Flexible schedule including weekends; strong customer service and teamwork.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; pass background and drug test.
• Obtain licenses under National, State, Local codes (as needed).

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service Fire Alarm Systems at customer sites.
• Perform panel reprogramming and device replacement/repair.
• Troubleshoot low‑voltage circuits and test system functionality.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and manuals.
• Supervise and inspect installation to meet specs; complete certification courses.
• Document tasks in a timely manner and communicate status to Project Manager.
