AgileEngine is seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to guide engineering teams on cloud costs and optimization. The role requires APAC-friendly hours with overlap with PST and CST, and a strong background in FinOps, cost forecasting, and collaboration with R&D.

You will monitor spend, perform root-cause analyses, and deliver actionable recommendations, while maintaining documentation and contributing to monthly forecasts and showback reporting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of FinOps experience.
• Strong cloud cost management and optimization expertise.
• Proven ability to investigate spend anomalies and produce root-cause analyses.
• Experience advising and consulting with R&D/engineering teams.
• Cloud cost forecasting experience with alignment of central and team forecasts.
• Familiarity with OpenAI/LLM cost drivers and monitoring LLM spend.
• Cost modeling and team investment/project tracking.
• Proficiency with Jira for documenting investigations and Slack for real-time and asynchronous support.
• Experience maintaining technical documentation/wiki spaces and recurring reporting (Showback).
• Strong written and verbal communication for stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for R&D teams seeking cloud cost guidance via Slack and other channels.
• Conduct proactive engagement with APAC-based teams to review monthly spending and surface cost opportunities; document summaries with recommendations.
• Monitor cloud and AI/LLM spend for anomalies and spikes; conduct investigations and deliver root-cause analyses and optimization recommendations; document in Jira.
• Participate in monthly forecasting with assigned R&D teams to align forecasts with team plans; produce engagement notes.
• Contribute to showback reporting and top spending meetings with cost-driver insights.
• Support Cost Awareness and Cost Education efforts; audit and update the wiki space.
• Model team cost projections and respond to inquiries via Slack and email.
