Senior Field Technician – Telecom & Networking Installations

Job summary

Aventiv is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain and repair telecommunications equipment, networking hardware and associated devices in correctional facilities. You may travel to sites for on-site or roving support, handling installations, training, and administrative tasks as needed.

The role requires hands-on experience with telecom and networking devices, VOIP, and fiber/wireless tech, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 3 years of installation repair and maintenance of telecom and networking devices.
• Experience with Windows OS, VOIP, Adtran Fortinet, AOS, Cisco IOS and wireless technology.
• Telephony experience - including pulling cable and terminations up to 100 pair cables and troubleshooting wiring/T1/CO dial tone problems.
• Experience with network cabling standards (cat3/cat5/cat6).
• Electronics / Electrical Certification or Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, maintains, programs and installs telecom and networking hardware/software per specs in correctional facilities.
• Repairs/installs phones, kiosks, video terminals, WAPs, tablets and other equipment within facilities.
• Maintain site surveys, pre-bid meetings and sales conferences support.
• Communicate with dispatchers for assignments and ETA.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with multiple departments.
• Educate and train customers on Securus products and services.
• Provide admin support and data entry as needed including PIN/PAN, reporting and training.
• Maintain equipment inventories and assets.
• Demonstrate proficiency with telephony tasks like cable pulling and wiring.
