Job summary

Aventiv is seeking a field service technician to maintain and repair telecommunications hardware across correctional facilities in the Portland area. You will install and configure devices, assist with inventory, and coordinate with dispatchers to ensure timely service.

The role requires hands-on telecom and networking skills, VOIP, and the ability to troubleshoot complex problems across multiple systems. Travel is involved, with on-site and roving assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years of installation repair and maintenance of telecom and networking devices.
• Experience with Windows OS, VOIP, Adtran Fortinet, AOS, Cisco IOS and wireless technology.
• Telephony experience - including cable pulling and terminations up to 100 pair cables and troubleshooting wiring / T1 / CO dial tone problems.
• Knowledge of network cabling standards (cat3, cat5, cat6).

Responsibilities

• Repairs, maintains, programs and installs telecommunications hardware, associated LAN/WAN/networking hardware/software in facilities.
• Repairs/installs phones, kiosk, video terminals, WAPs, tablets and other equipment within facilities.
• Maintain and provide operations support for site surveys, pre-bid meetings and/or sales conferences.
• Communicates with dispatchers to receive work assignments and ETA information.
• Troubleshoots situations where standard procedures fail and coordinates with multiple departments.
• Educates and trains Securus customers on products and services; provides admin support as needed.
