Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Field Technician III to lead field crews, perform advanced testing and maintenance, and troubleshoot complex substation equipment. This role provides technical leadership and supports engineers during commissioning and critical field operations.

The position emphasizes safety, hands-on problem solving, documentation of test results, and collaboration with project managers to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes on North American assignments.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen required for safety-sensitive role.
• Background check required.
• Willingness to OT and travel out of town for periods.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and reinforce all safety policies and procedures.
• Lead job site safety briefings and implement mitigation measures.
• Promote safety culture and continuous improvement.
• Lead field execution of testing, inspection, and maintenance of HV/MV/LV equipment.
• Perform advanced testing and diagnostics on breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues using schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Direct repair, replacement, and maintenance activities to restore equipment functionality.
• Support installation and commissioning activities, including functional testing.
• Interpret test results and escalate issues with corrective actions.
• Review field documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate daily field activities with engineers and other crews.
• Mentor and train junior technicians.
