Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a certified Construction Materials Testing Senior Field Technician I to join our Salt Lake City team. You will collaborate with project management professionals to safely perform field testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials.

Role involves mentoring Technician I/II staff, reporting field conditions, and contributing to project meetings. Strong communication and math/data reduction skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience
• Proficient in field testing and observation of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt
• Ability to train and mentor Technician I/II in field procedures

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt, structural steel, and related materials
• Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors
• Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results
• Performs calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks
• Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials
• Assists in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution
• Trains and mentors Technician I and Technician II staff in field procedures and documentation
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned
