Job summary

ECS Limited, part of ECS Group of Companies, is seeking a certified Construction Materials Testing Senior Field Technician I to join our Salt Lake City team. You will work with project management professionals to safely perform field testing across soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials.

Responsibilities include field observation, sampling, reporting, and mentoring junior staff. A valid license and OSHA 10 may be required; opportunities for development and certification are provided.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• Maintain basic certifications and two advanced certifications applicable to the work performed.
• General industry OSHA 10 may be required.
• Valid driver's license if driving for any ECS subsidiary.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt, structural steel, and related materials.
• Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results.
• Performs calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks.
• Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials.
• Assists in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution.
• Trains and mentors Technician I and Technician II staff in field procedures and documentation.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
