Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a certified Construction Materials Testing Senior Field Technician I for its Wilmington, NC team. You will perform field observation, sampling, and testing across soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials, collaborating with project management professionals.

Responsibilities include daily reporting, data calculations, equipment maintenance, and mentoring Technician I/II staff. The role supports project execution and may involve travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Maintain two advanced certifications applicable to the work per policy
• If driving for ECS, a valid driver’s license is required
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to lift up to 85 lbs

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt, structural steel, and related materials
• Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors
• Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results
• Performs calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks
• Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials
• Assists in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution
• Trains and mentors Technician I and Technician II staff in field procedures and documentation
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned
