Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician I to join our Knoxville team. You will work with project management professionals to safely perform field tasks and support client needs.

The role emphasizes observation, sampling, and testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete, with opportunities for advancement and certification development within ECS’s framework.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must have and maintain basic level certifications and 2 advanced certifications.
• OSHA 10 is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance required.
• Must be able to lift 40–70 lbs repeatedly and up to 85 lbs occasionally.
• Proficient with MS Office and field data collection.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials on construction sites (soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel).
• Conduct routine field tests following industry standards and testing equipment.
• Collect data, perform calculations, and draft field reports documenting site observations.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project teams; attend project meetings as needed.
• Receive training on ECS methodology and document findings accurately.
