Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to lead complex vehicle repairs and field operations. The role blends on-site service center work with remote diagnostics, travel to remote locations, and occasional plant exposure. Strong leadership and mentoring skills are essential for guiding junior teammates.

You will diagnose high voltage and network systems using advanced tools, drive continuous improvement, and ensure high-quality service documentation and feedback to engineering teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or recognized equivalency credential preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school or vocational program preferred.
• Minimum age of 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no suspensions or revocations within the past 3–5 years).
• Ability to travel to regional locations or production plants as needed.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Complex Repairs: Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles both inside service centers and in field settings.
• Technical Support & Remote Troubleshooting: Provide high-level diagnostic guidance and remote diagnostics or repairs as needed.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Coach, mentor, and train junior technicians and internal partners; foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Advanced Tools & Methodologies: Use specialized diagnostic tools to resolve complex electrical, HV, and network faults.
• Quality & Process Standardization: Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive high standards across workflows.
• Parts Operations & Systems: Oversee parts operations including ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing.
• Documentation & Technical Feedback: Produce documentation and provide root-cause analysis for engineers and leadership.
