Job summary

Rivian is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to lead complex vehicle repairs and field operations. Based primarily at a service center, the role may include remote work, travel to remote locations, or plant assignments to provide advanced field support.

You will mentor technicians, drive continuous improvement, and tackle challenging diagnostics with cross-functional teams. The position requires 5–8+ years in automotive repair, HV experience, and strong leadership

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or recognized equivalency credential preferred.
Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school or vocational program preferred.
Minimum age of 21 years old and valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel to regional locations or production plants as needed.
Proficient in Windows/Mac environments and work order systems.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
State mechanic certifications where required by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, complex repairs, installations, and inspections in service centers and field settings.
Provide high-level diagnostic guidance to field service teams and perform remote diagnostics when possible.
Coach, mentor and train junior technicians and cross-functional partners.
Utilize diagnostic tools to resolve HV and electrical/network faults.
Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive standardization across workflows.
Oversee parts operations including ordering, receiving, inventory management, and billing.
Produce high-quality documentation and provide root-cause feedback to engineering teams.
