Job summary

Rivian seeks an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to lead complex vehicle diagnostics and field operations. The role combines service-center work with remote support, travel to sites, and production plant assignments to provide advanced field assistance.

You will mentor junior technicians, drive continuous improvements, and work with diverse teams across customers and partners. The position involves high-voltage and network systems expertise in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Graduation from automotive repair school or vocational program preferred.
• Minimum age 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel locally or production plants as needed.
• Proficient in Windows/Mac environments and diagnostic documentation systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• State mechanic certifications where required by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Complex Repairs: bumper-to-bumper diagnostics and inspections in service centers or field settings.
• Technical Support & Remote Troubleshooting: high-level guidance and remote diagnostics from data.
• Leadership & Mentorship: coach, mentor, and train junior technicians; lead problem-solving.
• Advanced Tools & Methodologies: use PICO-Scope, PCAN, Kavaser Memorator, breakout boxes to resolve faults.
• Quality & Process Standardization: road tests, drive improvements across workflows.
• Parts Operations & Systems: manage parts ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing; document feedback.
