Job summary

GCI in Alaska is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician based in Juneau to lead complex telecom installs, tests, and repairs for video, voice, and data services. You will mentor junior techs, coordinate with dispatch, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time execution in remote conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of six (6) years in a broadband, data, networking, telecom role or related field.
• One (1) year of complex related field experience.
• May require certifications and courses (Defensive Driving, Installer, Pole Climbing, etc.).
• Possible requirement to live in Arctic environment depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment from tap to customer premises.
• Perform routine or preventative maintenance on RF, analog, microwave, fiber, and electrical components.
• Refer problems between demarc and headend to network technicians.
• Mentor junior technicians and support senior staff on installs and tests.
• Follow safety rules and company policies while maintaining equipment and documentation.
