Job summary

GCI Communication Corp is seeking a Field Service Technician I to support customers with telecom products and services, install, service, and troubleshoot video, data, and voice offerings in homes and small businesses in Alaska. You will assist senior technicians, handle routine maintenance, and promote additional services on-site, while adhering to safety guidelines and company policies.

Qualifications

• Requires a basic technical background and ability to learn field procedures.
• Entry-level role with on-the-job training and supervision by senior technicians.
• Preferred certifications may be completed during employment to advance.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot telecom equipment for video, voice, and data in homes or offices.
• Perform routine maintenance on RF, analog, microwave, fiber, and AC/DC components.
• Assist with relocation, upgrades, and service disconnects as needed.
• Communicate with customers on-site and promote additional services.
• Support senior technicians and mentor junior staff.
