Job summary

Forgent Power is hiring a Field Service Technician II to independently perform maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting on LV/MV power systems. This role requires ownership of scopes, mentoring apprentices, and delivering consistent customer support on site.

Travel and on‑site work are required; you will read diagrams, conduct tests, document results, and support commissioning with senior staff. A strong safety record and 5–8 years in the field are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical schooling or Associate’s degree a plus.
• 5–8 years of field service experience with LV/MV equipment and related electrical gear.
• Ability to read schematics and one‑line diagrams; strong safety practices (LOTO, arc‑flash).
• Proven ability to write clear field reports and maintain test documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and testing on LV/MV switchgear, breakers, ATS, generators, and related equipment.
• Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, and basic functional testing with minimal supervision.
• Support transformer maintenance and field testing up to medium voltage, including DGA oil sampling.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues; escalate complex faults as needed.
• Assist with commissioning checks, wiring verifications, and relay testing under supervision.
• Document service activities, maintain punch lists, and coordinate with project teams.
