Job summary

Forgent Power is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance and testing on LV/MV switchgear, breakers, ATS, RPPs, and PDUs at customer sites across Minnesota.

You will read schematics, troubleshoot electrical and control issues, support commissioning activities, maintain safety with LOTO and arc-flash practices, document test results, and mentor apprentices on job sites. Travel 50–80% is expected; PPE is required for all field tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training is a plus.
• 3–4 years of field service experience with LV/MV gear.
• Ability to read schematics and one-lines.
• Valid driver’s license and travel willingness.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and testing on switchgear and panels.
• Troubleshoot electrical and control issues; support commissioning.
• Adhere to safety standards and complete field reports.
• Mentor apprentices and coordinate with project teams.
