Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking Field Service Technicians to test, maintain, and commission power systems across the United States. You’ll work with relays, transformers, breakers, and SCADA, performing standard tests and troubleshooting with minimal supervision.

Strong safety awareness and the ability to read electrical diagrams are essential. The role requires 3–5 years in field service for high/medium voltage systems, NETA Level II preferred, and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years field experience testing, maintaining and commissioning power systems up to 500kV.
• Ability to read schematics and one-line diagrams; familiarity with NFPA 70E and OSHA 1910.269.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% across the continental U.S. and pass background/drug checks.

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain, and collect data on high voltage systems and equipment.
• Run standard field tests and troubleshoot control circuits and protection schemes.
• Read schematics, document test results, and communicate updates to customers.
• Support commissioning activities and mentor junior technicians.
• Follow safety procedures and use test equipment properly.
