Job summary

Forgent Power is seeking a Sr. Field Service Engineer to lead complex field service, commissioning, and modernization of MV/HV power systems across substations and transformers.

You will provide on-site leadership, drive safety, and mentor field teams while interfacing with customers and project teams. You will direct testing, diagnostics, and retrofit activities, develop test plans, and ensure quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Must have 11+ years of field experience with MV/HV switchgear and protection/control systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead field crews and manage on-site execution for complex commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E/OSHA safety and arc-flash risk controls.
• Experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams.
• DOT qualification and travel willingness required.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and startup of complete electrical systems with testing and performance verification.
• Serve as primary technical escalation point for advanced control, protection, and integration issues.
• Plan and perform advanced diagnostics for equipment and protection/control issues.
• Execute and direct protection relay commissioning and end-to-end verification.
• Direct testing activities, manage field crews, and ensure quality and schedule adherence.
