Job summary

Forgent Power is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to act as the technical authority for MV/HV power systems on-site at customer facilities. You will lead commissioning, diagnostics, and modernization efforts, mentor junior staff, and ensure safety and quality across outages and projects.

Responsibilities include transformer tests, protection relay work, system integration, and field reporting. Travel up to 50–80% and adherence to NFPA 70E standards are required.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of field experience or equivalent combination of education and field experience.
• Ability to lead field crews and manage on-site execution for complex commissioning and service events.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E/OSHA safety practices and arc-flash risk controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and startup of complete electrical systems, including acceptance testing and verification of system performance.
• Serve as primary technical escalation point for advanced control, protection, and integration issues.
• Plan and perform advanced diagnostics for equipment and protection/control issues.
• Perform protection relay commissioning and end-to-end verification; validate settings against files and drawings.
• Direct testing activities and manage multiple work fronts; mentor Field Service Engineers.
