Job summary

IEM is seeking a Field Service Technician Level III to perform advanced start-up, commissioning, installation, testing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of IEM equipment at customer sites. You will resolve complex issues and mentor junior technicians.

The role requires strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, the ability to travel up to 75%, and clear communication with project teams, customers, and internal groups.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in power distribution systems preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of related electrical, mechanical, field service experience preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years supporting switchgear start-up, commissioning, or repair preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and service documentation.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% for field work.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform advanced start-up, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of IEM equipment, including switchboards, control panels, and power products.
• Install, modify, inspect, and support electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Lead or support complex field service activities and escalated technical concerns.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, clients, Project Managers, and internal teams.
• Analyze system failures, identify root causes, and determine corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control wiring, networking equipment, and related field service issues.
• Document service activities, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and follow-up items.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Level I and II technicians.
