Reporting Line

This position reports to: Regional Service Manager - South

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for Demand Field Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service. Senior Demand Field Service Technicians perform services in accordance with ABB's standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You will work closely with customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical point of contact to deliver quality service. The position is based near Houston, TX or Baton Rouge, LA, requiring the ability to work independently and as part of a team depending on customer and contract needs.

The work model for this role is: #LI - Remote. This role contributes to the Process Automation Energy Industries Division in the Houston, TX or Baton Rouge, LA area.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide site service to ensure safe and efficient plant operation using ABB 800xA/AC800M Distributed Control System.
• Handle all routine, periodic, preventive maintenance, and shutdown support, with additional support from ABB Technical and Advanced Services as needed.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues of the distributed control system and manage technical support requests to optimize system performance.
• Maintain customer database logs for calls and support provided.
• Recommend ABB solutions to improve system performance and expand value-added services within existing contracts.
• Communicate effectively with all site stakeholders to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries, maintaining a follow-up system to ensure effectiveness of technical advice.
• Support hardware and software upgrade projects, system modifications, and additions both online and offline.

Qualifications

• Associate level desired; minimum of 5 years' experience in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Automation, or Process Control, or equivalent education and experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft, networking, cybersecurity, and ABB 800xA/AC800M DCS is a plus.
• Experience in DCS system maintenance, configuration, and process control.
• Travel required - 80%.
• Fluent English speaker with a valid driver's license.
• Legal work authorization for the US required.
