Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for Demand Field Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service. Senior Demand Field Service Technicians perform service in accordance with ABB standards, quality, and safety guidelines. You will work closely with customers and ABB teams, acting as the technical point of contact while delivering quality service. The position is based near Houston, TX or Baton Rouge, LA, requiring the ability to work independently and as part of a team based on customer and contract requirements.

The work model for this role is: #LI - Remote. This position contributes to the Process Automation Energy Industries Division in the Houston, TX or Baton Rouge, LA area.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide site service to ensure safe and efficient plant operation utilizing the ABB 800xA/AC800M Distributed Control System.
• Perform all periodic, routine, preventive maintenance, and shutdown support, with additional support from ABB Technical and Advanced Services as needed.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in distributed control systems and manage technical support requests to optimize system performance.
• Maintain customer database by logging calls and support provided.
• Suggest ABB solutions to enhance system performance and expand value-added services.
• Communicate effectively with all site stakeholders to meet or exceed service expectations.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries, ensuring effective follow-up and technical advice.
• Support hardware and software upgrades, system modifications, and additions, both online and offline.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; minimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Automation, or Process Control, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft, networking, cybersecurity, and ABB 800xA/AC800M DCS is a plus.
• Experience in DCS maintenance, configuration, and process control.
• Travel requirement: 80%
• Fluent English speaker and valid driver's license required.
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
