This position reports to the Field Service Manager.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work of medium to high complexity according to work instructions and ABB guidelines. You will deliver excellent customer service and work with customers to identify opportunities to improve system and operational performance. The work model is remote. This role contributes to the Electrification Service division in Tempe, AZ. Your main responsibilities include:

  1. Providing knowledge and conducting work activities in compliance with ABB HSE standards, ABB Way, and Safety policies.
  2. Executing projects such as startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, busways, UPS, PLCs, relays, and power management systems.
  3. Leading outages with other engineers, technicians, and contractors, managing project documentation, technical reports, and administrative tasks.
  4. Planning and performing multifunctional field assignments, directing other engineers and labor as needed.
  5. Expanding technical knowledge and expertise according to industry standards.
  6. Developing and delivering training programs to share knowledge within the team.
  7. Completing administrative functions such as technical reports, material orders, quotations, and expense tracking in a timely manner.
  8. Controlling costs and safeguarding company assets.
  9. Working directly with customers and sales teams to identify new service opportunities, develop proposals, and execute work scopes.
Qualifications for the role
  • High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of relevant field engineering experience.
  • Technical skills in testing, repairing, and refurbishing low and medium voltage equipment, including OEM equipment such as Siemens, GE, ABB, SquareD, and relays.
  • Experience with testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of medium voltage machines and control systems.
  • Up to 75% domestic travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of the industrial customer base in the geographical area.
  • Must already have work authorization in the US; visa sponsorship is not available.
