Job summary

Lam Research in Manassas, VA is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver on-site repair, installation, and relocation support for complex semiconductor equipment. You will diagnose issues, minimize downtime, and stay current with Lam products through ongoing training.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in Electronics/Engineering or related field and 2+ years of experience, with frequent domestic and international travel. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field, with 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently, domestically and internationally.
• Able to work in a cleanroom environment with PPE.
• This is a graduate-eligible role.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality on-site repair and maintenance services, including installation and relocation start-up support.
• Perform diagnostics, isolate issues to component level, and apply corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Stay up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through training.
• Assist with complex field modifications and maintain detailed records to coordinate activities.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot issues and develop customer response action plans.
• Discuss opportunities and challenges with customers to build trust.
• Provide technical instruction and mentoring to junior engineers.
