Job summary

PwrQ Holdings LLC seeks a Sr. Field Service Engineer to lead complex field service, commissioning, and modernization work on MV/HV power systems. You will serve as the technical authority on transformer diagnostics, protection, and control, interfacing with customers and project teams and mentoring field staff.

Qualifications

• 11+ years field experience with MV/HV switchgear, breakers, and protection/control systems.
• Ability to lead field crews and manage on-site execution for complex commissioning and service events.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical safety practices (NFPA 70E/OSHA) including LOTO and arc-flash controls.
• Proven ability to read, troubleshoot, and redline schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Willingness to travel 50–80% and obtain DOT qualifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and startup of complete electrical systems, including acceptance testing and verification of performance.
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for advanced control, protection, and integration issues.
• Plan and perform advanced transformer diagnostics (SFRA, DFR, insulation tests).
• Direct testing activities and manage field crews; mentor engineers and technicians at Levels 1–4.
• Develop commissioning/test plans, verify I/O, and document results.
• Provide safety leadership and enforce LOTO, arc-flash, and permit requirements.
