Qualifications

• 11+ years of field experience with MV/HV switchgear, breakers, and protection and control systems or equivalent combination of education and field experience.
• Proven ability to lead field crews and manage on-site execution for complex commissioning and service events.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices (NFPA 70E/OSHA) and arc-flash risk controls.
• Experience reading, troubleshooting, and redlining schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Expertise in transformer field testing and condition assessment with DGA interpretation.
• Ability to develop commissioning/test plans and verify I/O from drawings and sequences of operation.
• Strong report writing and test documentation skills.
• Valid driver's license with travel ability; DOT qualifications if required.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and startup of complete electrical systems, including acceptance testing.
• Serve as primary technical escalation point for protection and integration issues.
• Plan and perform advanced diagnostics for equipment and protection/control issues.
• Execute protection relay commissioning and end-to-end verification.
• Direct testing activities and manage multiple work fronts; mentor field staff.
• Lead transformer diagnostics, performance verification, and subsystem integration.
• Oversee modernization, retrofit, and system integration projects.
• Enforce safety policies (LOTO, arc-flash, energized work restrictions) on site.
• Produce high-quality field service reports and commissioning checklists.
• Provide customer training on system operation and safety considerations.
