Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our Tampa-based Engineering team. You will install, validate, and commission systems on-site and provide hands-on troubleshooting and high-level technical support at customer sites.

The role requires 5+ years in field service, strong networking and security knowledge, and the ability to work independently or with a team across departments. Travel is extensive, with opportunity to impact customer deployments directly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in a field service role.
• Experience with Docker, Containers, Virtualization, VLANs, Routing, VPN, Firewalls, Multicast, TCP/IP, Packet capture, WireShark, ATAK, TAK Server, Test Plans, Defect Tracking, Technical Documentation, Customer Training.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Certifications in relevant areas are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site installation, validation, and commissioning of systems.
• Perform hands-on on-site troubleshooting, service, and repairs.
• Provide high-level technical support to external customers at their location.
• Interface with cross-functional teams (field applications, customer support, product management, manufacturing, marketing/sales).
• Develop service technical documentation.
• Create and maintain service information in the enterprise database.
• Handle field service calls and issues promptly and professionally.
• Complete and submit all required paperwork.
• Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and implement corrective actions.
• Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
