Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support on-site metrology and inspection systems in Tampa, FL. You will be the primary technical contact for customers, performing installation, calibration, maintenance, and repairs while ensuring service quality and compliance with company standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s or technical degree with 5+ years in semiconductor field service, strong troubleshooting ability, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical engineering field.
• 5+ years semiconductor field service experience (if using associate degree).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems in semiconductor or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site installation, upgrades, calibration, maintenance and repair of metrology and inspection tools.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues; coordinate with engineering teams as needed.
• Manage escalations and critical customer situations; maintain thorough Field Service Reports (FSRs).
• Act as liaison between factory and customers for data collection, reliability analysis and satisfaction tracking.
• Support beta programs at customer sites and engineering centers; participate in on-call rotations.
