Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform on-site installation, diagnostic work and service on complex equipment. You will verify equipment against specifications and may train customers in system operation.

Ideal candidates have a technical degree with 3+ years in related fields, and are comfortable traveling up to 75% of the time. Proficiency in Windows/Linux and strong troubleshooting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Electronics, Systems Engineering, Materials Science or Analytical Chemistry or undergrad with 3+ years experience.
• Requires 50-75% travel.
• Metrology tool experience or field service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, service and repair of complex equipment.
• Check operational quality of system equipment against Onto specifications.
• Instruct customers in operation of the system.
• Serve as liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for projects.
• Interpret customer needs and determine if issue falls to sales, customer support or engineers.
