The Hanover Insurance Group in Illinois is seeking a Senior Field Property Adjuster to manage moderate to high-value field property claims in the Springfield area. This remote full-time role requires travel for field investigations and CAT responses, with independent decision-making and strong negotiation skills.

You will lead investigations, assess coverage, set reserves, coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents, and mentor junior adjusters while upholding regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with claim handling.
• Typically requires 5–10 years of adjusting experience.
• Must have and maintain appropriate state adjuster licenses, continuing education credits, and a valid driver’s license.
• Strong Xactimate proficiency, preferably Level II Certified.

Responsabilités

• Independently manage field property claims, including CAT responses and field investigations.
• Lead thorough investigations, assess coverage, and issue documentation including reservation of rights and coverage letters.
• Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities; coordinate recovery efforts.
• Maintain detailed claim records and prepare reports while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents; may represent the company in mediations or trials.
• Mentor junior adjusters and contribute to best practices and training.
