Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Field Property Adjuster for the Plainfield, New Jersey area. This remote, full-time role involves independently managing moderate to high-value field property claims with travel on short notice.

You will lead thorough investigations, assess coverage, set reserves, and communicate clearly with claimants and stakeholders. Collaboration with internal teams and external experts is essential to deliver high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in claims handling or related field.
• 5–10 years of adjusting experience preferred.
• Licensed adjuster with active credentials and CE credits.
• Strong Xactimate proficiency and analytical skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage field property claims, including CAT and outside investigations.
• Lead investigations, assess coverage, issue documentation, and manage litigation risk as needed.
• Identify subrogation opportunities and coordinate recovery efforts.
• Maintain detailed claim records and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents; may represent the company in mediations or trials.
• Mentor junior adjusters and contribute to training and best practices.
