Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Field Property Adjuster to manage moderate to high-value field property claims in the Grand Rapids, MI area. This remote, full-time role involves field investigations, complex analysis, and rapid response to CAT events.

You will lead investigations, assess coverage, and negotiate settlements while maintaining compliant records and collaborating with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with claim handling.
• Typically requires 5–10 years of adjusting experience.
• Strong Xactimate proficiency; Level II certification preferred.
• Solid knowledge of local geography, regulations, and public safety agencies.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage field property claims, including CAT responses; communicate clearly with claimants and stakeholders.
• Lead thorough investigations, assess coverage, and issue reservation letters as needed.
• Identify subrogation opportunities and coordinate with recovery teams.
• Maintain detailed claim records and compliant documentation for jurisdictional requirements.
• Coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents; represent the company in mediations/arbitrations when needed.
• Mentor junior adjusters and contribute to training and best practices.
