Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC is seeking a Senior Field Mechanical Engineer for the on-site SPARC assembly team at Devens, MA. You will own and guide the assembly sequence, ensure tooling readiness, and collaborate with design and metrology teams to keep the high-precision process moving smoothly.

You will lead tool design and fixture creation, resolve non-conformances, and support hands-on Tokamak assembly with cross-functional teams.

Qualifikationen

• B.S. in Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience with project ownership.
• 4+ years overseeing construction/assembly/integration processes.
• 4+ years of CAD software experience.

Aufgaben

• Own the assembly sequence for your workstation and adapt the process to fit SPARC assembly.
• Define first-encounter work scope including installation of manifolds and sub-assemblies.
• Identify and implement solutions for assembly issues in collaboration with design teams.
• Procure or build tools, fixtures, or manipulation equipment for upcoming process ports.
• Provide design feedback to SPARC subsystems and participate in design reviews.
• Assist in disposition of non-conformances and release updated sequences.
• Support hands-on Tokamak Assembly operations as needed.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet requirements amid high loads and vacuum constraints.
