Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting, LLC seeks a Lead Field Technician - Critical Infrastructure to oversee field execution on large data center projects. The role requires strong leadership of field crews, coordination with subcontractors, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

The position demands 6–8 years of hands-on field experience, the ability to interpret drawings and schedules, and effective communication with Site Superintendents and trade partners.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years in field execution in mission-critical, hyperscale, or complex MEP construction environments.
• Experience directing field crews and coordinating subcontractors.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field execution for assigned scopes, zones, or workstreams.
• Direct field labor and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners.
• Coordinate activities across trades (electrical, mechanical, automation, controls, networking, commissioning).
• Develop 2–3 week look-ahead schedules and track progress.
• Enforce QA/QC requirements and safety policies; escalate risks as needed.
