Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting, LLC is seeking a Lead Field Technician - Critical Infrastructure to lead field execution on hyperscale data center projects. The role requires coordinating trades, ensuring safety, and maintaining schedules under the Site Superintendent guidance.

The ideal candidate has 6–8 years in mission-critical construction, strong leadership, and proficiency with Procore or similar tools. This is a full-time on-site role with travel flexibility and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• At least 6–8 years in field execution in mission-critical or complex construction.
• Experience directing field crews and coordinating subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of safety, sequencing, and QA/QC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field execution for assigned scopes, zones, or workstreams.
• Direct STC field labor and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners.
• Coordinate daily activities across trades including electrical, mechanical, automation, controls, networking, and commissioning.
• Participate in daily coordination meetings, site walks, and trade alignment discussions.
• Resolve routine field conflicts; escalate complex issues to the Site Superintendent.
• Develop and maintain 2–3 week look-ahead schedules; track progress.
• Enforce QA/QC and verify work against drawings and plans; identify deficiencies.
• Enforce OSHA/NFPA 70E safety; lead toolbox talks; stop work for unsafe conditions.
• Provide daily updates to Site Superintendent; prepare field reports and documentation.
• Interface with GC supervision, inspectors, and trade leads; support lessons learned.
