Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting, LLC is seeking a Lead Field Technician – Critical Infrastructure to drive field execution on hyperscale data center projects. This senior role coordinates electrical, mechanical, automation, and control trades to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to safety standards.

You will lead field crews, manage subcontractors, review drawings and schedules, and ensure quality control across scopes, while reporting to the Site Superintendent.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–8 years of experience in field execution roles within mission-critical, hyperscale, or complex MEP construction environments.
• Demonstrated experience directing field crews and coordinating subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety practices, and quality control.
• Experience working under a Site Superintendent or Project Superintendent in large-scale projects.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and schedules.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and high-risk construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field execution for assigned scopes, zones, or workstreams.
• Direct STC field labor and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners within assigned areas.
• Coordinate daily activities across trades including electrical, mechanical, automation, controls, networking, and commissioning.
• Participate in daily coordination meetings, site walks, and trade alignment discussions.
• Resolve routine field conflicts and sequencing issues; elevate complex issues to the Site Superintendent.
