Job summary

Databricks in the Northeast United States is seeking a Senior Manager, Field Engineering to lead a broad team of technical customer advisors and shape the strategy, roadmap, and operating model for a significant Field Engineering portfolio.

This role will coach leaders, set priorities, and partner with Sales and cross-functional leadership to align customer needs with technology strategy and business outcomes. You will drive scalable enablement and build trusted executive relationships.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading technical customer-facing teams in enterprise software, cloud, data, AI, analytics, or related environments.
• Proven ability to hire bar-raising talent, develop leaders, manage performance, and structure teams effectively.
• Experience leading through other leaders or as a senior leader on a complex team.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Field Engineering professionals and emerging leaders across a broader portfolio.
• Set team strategy and roadmaps aligning customer needs, technical priorities, and business outcomes.
• Influence portfolio priorities and help teams anticipate needs over 3–12 months.
• Partner with Sales and cross-functional leadership to shape technical-win strategy and resource allocation.
• Build trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders and use insights to improve strategy.
• Establish repeatable inspection mechanisms across teams and portfolios.
• Coach leaders through complex customer, technical, and organizational challenges.
• Create playbooks and tools to scale productivity beyond one team.
• Influence Product, Engineering, Support, and Partners on customer requirements and gaps.
• Use AI and automation to extend impact across enablement and execution.
