Job summary

IES is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services, seeking a Field Engineer II - Structured Cabling to install, trouble- shoot, and operate low-voltage structured cabling systems. You will read complex drawings, prepare shop drawings and submittals for new projects, and lead field work with minimal supervision.

You will interface with the project manager and coordinate on-site activities to ensure quality and schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Will have at least 4-6 years’ commercial low voltage/structured cabling experience.
• Must be able to work well with other people
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
• Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
• Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.

Responsibilities

• Install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in a senior service support role.
• Understand advanced drawings and prepare shop drawings and submittals for new projects.
• Lead field work with little supervision and coordinate with project manager.
• Travel within branch/ regional territory as needed.
• Support pre-construction/estimating, QA, and training initiatives.
