Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Field Engineer II - Structured Cabling to install and operate low-voltage cabling systems and equipment. You will troubleshoot, verify field connections and read drawings to prepare shop drawings and submittals for new projects.

You will oversee field work with limited supervision, coordinate with project managers, and provide advanced support for installation teams. Occasional travel within territory is required and you may assist with bid-related activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 4–6 years commercial low-voltage/structured cabling experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Must be able to travel within territory as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment in field service.
• Review drawings, create shop drawings and submittals for new projects.
• Manage field work with minimal supervision and coordinate with project team.
• Provide technical liaison between field and estimating/pre-construction.
