Job summary

IES is seeking a Field Engineer I - Structured Cabling to install and operate low-voltage cabling systems and equipment. The role includes troubleshooting, reading drawings, and providing advanced field support in a predominantly onsite environment in Fort Worth, TX.

You will collaborate with project managers and field staff, perform quality checks, and assist with punch lists and closeouts. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, with a can-do attitude and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 3-4 years of commercial low voltage/structured cabling experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret complex drawings, specs and manuals; create shop drawings.
• Manage field work with minimal supervision and coordinate with project team.
• Quality-check projects, test equipment, and complete punch lists.
• Support sales with product and system demonstrations as needed.
