Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Field Engineer I to install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems and related equipment. The role includes interpreting drawings, performing field verification, and supporting project kick-offs and closeouts across assigned branches.

The ideal candidate will have 3–4 years of experience with commercial cabling, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in MS Office. Travel within the branch/region is required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 3–4 years experience in commercial low voltage/structured cabling.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Able to read blueprints and project documents.

Responsibilities

• Install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in the field.
• Review drawings, specifications, and create submittals for projects.
