Job summary

IES is seeking a Field Engineer II - Structured Cabling to install and operate low-voltage systems across client sites in the United States. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and verify field connections and performance, and you will translate complex drawings into actionable shop drawings and submittals for new projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 4–6 years of commercial low-voltage/structured cabling experience.
• Ability to read complex drawings and specifications.
• Proven project management and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and project planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Install and operate low-voltage/structured cabling systems in varied settings.
• Troubleshoot equipment, diagnose issues, and verify field connections.
• Read and interpret advanced drawings and specs; prepare shop drawings.
• Lead field teams with minimal supervision and coordinate site activities.
• Create comprehensive field narratives and assist estimating with proposals.
• Perform quality checks, test equipment, and generate punch lists.
• Travel to assigned sites within branch/region as required.
• Support sales with product demos and field demonstrations.
• Ensure on-time project closeout with accurate documentation.
